3D PROJECTS
FESTIVAL HALL 3D VISUALISATION

To scale and created within a day and a half from photographs of the venue.
The scene can be adjusted and 3D elements can be expanded to include any conference material (or table layouts for an occasion such as a wedding) demonstrating the plan and feel of the event. This greatly aids any planning of an event and also saves time when erecting any visuals within the space.
Once a scene is created, a virtual reality experience can also be created that furthers a viewers notion on what the venue would be like to attend or hire.
MODERN HOME 3D CONCEPT

To scale and created within a day. Depending on what is required of the image and the level of detail determines how much time it takes to create the scene and then render it into the hi-resolution image.
Pre-visualising architecture or home extensions demonstrates the look and feel of the building work before any manual work has begun. This aids in understanding the design and the space that it will inhabit, proving very useful in forward planning.
3D GRASS AND PLANTLIFE

Outdoor and indoor images benefit greatly from the natural feel of trees, shrubs and plants. Using particle systems within 3D software enables flowers and plants of any type or colour to be included within the final render.
APRIL FOOLS DAY IMAGE

This image was for an April Fools day prank for Cloud Imperium Games in which we advertised the fake release of a Star Citizen fragrance with a hefty price tag.
BUS STOP AD REPLACEMENT
After videoing walking towards a bus stop, I tracked my movement and the position of the bus stop advertisement before replacing the still image with my own motion graphic sequence created for a University in the North West (name replaced as per clients request).
DAMAGED BRIDGE VFX
This VFX sequence was an early piece of mine while still learning to work in 3D effects.
The whole sequence is filmed and created by myself. An interesting technique implemented was the use of one frame of the video to colour the 3D modelled floor. This keeps the colour and lighting correct which is important when keeping the computer generated areas sitting correctly within the shot.
ST PATRICKS DAY IMAGE

This is another social media promotional images created for Cloud Imperium Games.
An important part of images like this one is the adding of imperfections like the brochure being not completely flat to the table and the indent of the badge on the felt hat. These little features add to the realism as that is how the object would react in a real world setting.
VALENTINES DAY IMAGE

Valentines day image for Star Citizen.
The spaceship model was taken directly from the game and textured within a program called Keyshot.
MOTHER'S DAY IMAGE

Mother's day image promotional image for the crowd funded game Star Citizen.
This image was completed within the game engine software itself after importing the card design.
DIRECTOR'S BIRTHDAY IMAGE

Cloud Imperium Games required an image to post on social media to celebrate the directors birthday.
The image was created in Adobe Illustrator and imported into the game engine into the screen of an arcade machine.
EASTER PROMO IMAGE

Social media image for Star Citizen Easter promotion. Plastic grass was a particle system effect created within Autodesk Maya.
3D DATA VISUALS
Motion graphics created for a friend who required a more visually interesting method of displaying data in a meeting.
BO STAFF ANIMATION
SCREEN REPLACEMENT
Animation created from a free video of a Bo Staff instructor. The 3D model was placed over the tutor and animated frame by frame to replicate his movement.
A common visual effects technique used in tv, films and advertising is the use of green screen. This allows any green areas of the video to be removed and replaced. The above video is my example of a mobile phones movement being tracked and then replaced with a clear image (this removes any reflections from the glass) which results in the image on the phones screen becoming much easier to see and read.
