300i TRAILER
END SLATE
Star Citizen®, a crowd funded video game created
by Cloud Imperium Games®, release trailers to advertise new spaceships that are available to purchase within its universe.
Each ship manufacturer has its own company identity and all marketing must adhere to these guidlines. The trailers are created after meticulous planning and involve large teams of artists and designers to achieve the final video. My role was to create the end slate motion graphics and this particular trailer was advertising a customisable high-end luxury ship with a 'Frank Sinatra' upbeat swing-feel throughout. With this in mind I created a slightly Art-Deco set of animations that highlight the new colour options for the vehicles whilst remaining on-brand with the ship manufacturer's ethos.

SHORT-LISTED
BOOK COVER

This cover design for Stephen Hawking's 'A Brief History of Time' was shortlisted in the Penguin Books Design Awards 2018.
The brief asked for an interesting use of typography to illustrate the books scientific theme, I chose to approach the design using 3D stretched typography that appears to be pulled and manipulated by the black hole. The judges found the design to be very visually interesting and I was invited to Random House in London for the awards ceremony.

JUMP POINT
LAYOUT DESIGN
While working for Cloud Imperium Games® I was tasked with the layout design for the monthly magazine and also creating in-game lore related advertisments that deepen the immersion of the readers within the universe of Star Citizen®

To scale and created within a day and a half from photographs of the venue.
The scene can be adjusted and 3D elements can be expanded to include any conference material (or table layouts for an occasion such as a wedding) demonstrating the plan and feel of the event. This greatly aids any planning and also saves time when erecting any visuals within the space.

Having knowledge in 3D software opens up many new avenues to approach any design brief so training myself in these complicated programs is challenging, rewarding and also just good fun.
Experimenting within the software and using the tools in unusual ways is great for idea generation.

A business coach approached me to design a logo for their company that operates within the South Manchester area. I looked to make the design clean whilst also demonstrating a feeling of growth or improvement.

During any spare time I often create kinetic typography and abstract poster designs to keep my mind creative.
Sometimes I have no particular end product in mind and just enjoy the freedom to create.

After videoing walking towards a bus stop, I tracked my movement and the position of the bus stop advertisement before replacing the still image with my own motion graphic sequence created for a University.
